What questions should I ask during the free consultation?

Ask anything your heart desires or is on your mind. I will be explaining the process and the forms to fill out. Some questions you can ask to get you started are:

  • How many years of experience do you have with laser hair removal?

  • How many of these laser treatments has the technician performed on people with my skin coloring and hair type?

  • How many laser treatments will I need?

  • What results can I expect?

  • What will I need to do before getting laser hair removal?

  • What are the potential side effects?

  • Do I have a higher risk for any side effects?

  • May I see before-and-after photos or speak with clients you treated with laser hair removal?

  • How much will the treatment cost?

  • What are the pre-care preparations?

  • How trained and prepared is your staff as technicians?

Again these are just suggestions to get you started if you’d like. But feel free to ask whatever you like or just listen to the owner babble away about what to expect and the mandatory forms.

What are the pre-care preparations?

  • Apply 100% aloe vera gel to your treatment area

  • Avoid picking or scratching the treatment area

  • Avoid excessively sweating for 24 hours (no sauna’s, steam rooms, or hot tubs)

  • Do not use any other hair removal methods other than shaving

  • Do not undertake any other skincare treatments/peels for 2 weeks

  • Schedule your next visit in 4 - 6 weeks for best results

What skin types and hair types are suitable for laser hair removal?

ALL skin types and most hair types. The only hair types the laser will not target (due to lack of pigment) is white hair, grey hair, close to white hair, and sometimes red hair. Contact me for a free consultation regarding red hair, sometimes it works on red hair 🥰 there will be a 3 session trial first. I have had about 80+ clients with red hair who have seen phenomenal results and maybe 15 or so I had to discontinue with.

It was extremely important to me that the laser can help everyone, from all around the world❤️ The Soprano Ice laser does not discriminate (maybe older populations due to the lack of white /grey hair results lol).

How quickly after the first or second session will I see results?

As I tell all my clients you will see results after your first or second session within 5-7 day after your treatment. I ALWAYS do a follow up with you and text to ask how your results are going after the first and second treatment. Honest answers are needed so I know what to adjust for next time. But 99% of the time I hear amazing satisfaction during the follow ups which makes my heart happy❤️

I tell everyone, after your first shave post-treatment, you will see the hair grow back VERY VERY slow (some clients don’t even need to shave). It is such a satisfactory feeling when the first few sessions shows such large results, however I never guarantee that, as it may take some people multiple treatments to see this. That is why I wait two weeks post-treatment to ask about your results for the first few sessions.

Your free patch test alone will show you how amazing and pain free this laser is!! enjoy your little hairless patch for a while before coming for a full session 🥰 I know you will be back🥰

Why am I not seeing results?

If you come consistently for the recommended time frame plan made by your technician you WILL see results (4-6 weeks apart). So make sure to be honest with yourself if you are as consistent as you should be. Also, I do not take on clients whose desired areas hair colors are grey or white (even close to white hair). Extremely light blonde hair and red hair always have a 3 session trial to see if they can see a difference before wanting to continue or discontinue. This is all explained on you during your consultations.

95% of my extremely light blonde (nearly white hair) clients and red hair clients see amazing results. Test a small area first before treating other area’s. Otherwise common blondes/red hair always see results.

Why do I need to shave before coming?

This laser targets the root of your hair, not the hair above your skin. It cannot kill the root without a clear surface on top, otherwise it will just be burning the hair on top and not targeting what is beneath the skin to provide your permanent hair reduction. So coming pre-shaved is extremely necessary or I will not be able to do your appointment properly.

The reason for a shaving fee is that it takes almost double the time of your treatment if I need to shave you as well, also I do not shave intimate area’s as that is personal and I do not want to hurt you with a blade unless its a very small area that needs a touch up. If you need certain areas of your body shaved as you do not have time, let me know while booking so I can allot time for you! :)

So it really doesn’t hurt at all?

Yes it does NOT hurt! you might feel some pricks and heat at times (only when your hair is coarser, as your hair thins out you will not feel a thing). Come for your free patch test and find out! its the Soprano ICE (it feels like an ice cube on your skin with moments of minimal heat and pricking at times). Pricking is a good thing! it means your root is dying, but the ice cube feeling really makes it comfortable.

I tell my clients, if you can’t have a comfortable conversation with me or play around on your phone due to the pain, that is not how it’s suppose to be. The newer machines are very painless. Again, come for your free patch test to find out!

Goodbye waxing! you hurt too much and don’t give permanent reduction! ouch!

Why does the laser not work on white or grey hair?

This hair type does not have pigment for the laser to attract and target. The laser needs some pigment in your hair follicle in order to zap and kill the root.

I am pregnant/breastfeeding, may I do laser?

I absolutely do not take on clients who are pregnant or think they might be. Breastfeeding mothers can have treatment from their waist down only with a valid doctor’s note allowing it. Contact us for more information.

What happens during a laser session?

You will arrive to a yummy drink and a cozy setting. I will check to make sure everything has been shaved properly and if you missed a spot, no worries I will quickly shave that for you (only small misses otherwise there will be a charge). You and the technician will wear safety laser goggles during the whole session while some fun tunes are playing. Then I apply ultrasound gel so the laser can glide safely on your desired area. After your treatment, I will clean up the gel off you and apply aloe vera gel to your area. After that you will use the IPad to complete your payment and enjoy the rest of your beautiful day!

What are possible side affects?

Redness and some swelling can happen. These can be calmed down by applying ice afterwards and just following post-care instructions. These should not last longer than 24 hours. If anything more persists please contact myself and your doctor (we thankfully have never had anything more persist in our clinic but let us know always).

This is why the medical form fill out is extremely important and MANDATORY before any treatments.

I heard you sterilize EVERYTHING in between treatments, what do you use and what all do you clean?

Cleanliness and hygiene are extremely important for safety and overall health. I am EXTREMELY particular on that. I do not want to be treated in dirty clinics, so why should you?

I use Cavi-Wipes (medical grade disinfectant wipe) and their Spray RELIGIOUSLY after clients. These are the same wipes you will find at medical facilities and dentists. The head of the laser is disinfected between clients thoroughly, all the goggles are disinfected, the bed, and the whole laser itself. I also mop/vacuum the room twice a day. I wear gloves when treating my clients and if you have a latex allergy please let me know because i also carry gloves that are latex free. We also do laundry constantly to insure you have clean and fresh smelling towels at all time.
